After The Water Baptism
Are the stars a little brighter tonight?
Or is my heart seeing more clearly
The world of today
Not tainted by the past
My soul is free at last
To ask — to seek — to knock
To look beyond
Yesterday’s pain
With expectancy I wait for tomorrow
To find the love, not yet known
The life, not yet lived
Oh, to know the joys of intimacy
The sharing, the caring
To have the senses renewed
The heart restored
It’s not too late
I’m not too old
The best is yet to come
